I believe there's a hard-wired aspect to our brains that forces us to judge a book by its cover. A good first impression is an invitation. Whether we're dealing with books or people or places, our initial reaction will determine our willingness to proceed or retreat. A compelling cover will make people open the book to see what's inside. If the cover designer was inspired by the book's contents, readers will not be disappointed.
